Drinking alcohol is a hobby most adults and even some teenagers participate in. Alcohol is a poison to the human body. The excessive use of alcohol can be very dangerous to the body. It can impair your vision, decreases vision, and slows your reaction time. That’s why drinking and driving is one of the leading causes of death in the United States of America. It is a bad combination when driving can be dangerous by itself. Drinking and driving is such a deadly combination. Every year thousands of people get their lives innocently taken in DUI accidents across the country. For example, about 18 months ago a little 6 year old girl (Ava Campbell) was playing with her mom in their driveway. All of a sudden a drunk man driving his car plowed over their mailbox and nailed the little girl and her mother in front of their home. The car missed Ava’s sister who was standing feet away when she saw her mother and sister get hit by the drunk driver. Ava’s mom had minor injuries, but Ava on the other hand had suffered a fractured pelvis, plus extreme damage to her lungs and liver. Later Ava Campbell died at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh at the age of 6 years old. This was a very tragic story and accidents like this should never happen. I can guarantee the person driving that car regrets his decision 100% and that not one day goes by where he doesn’t think of the little girl and her family. I could not imagine the guilt and stress I would have if I harmed someone else especially if they are innocent too. Just think about the grief you give to their family and friends. Do you really want that on your name?
